Internal Communication

Internal communication refers to the process of exchanging information and messages within an organization. It’s how different members of an organization communicate with each other—whether formally or informally—to share ideas, coordinate activities, give instructions, solve problems, or maintain an effective flow of information at all levels.

The primary objective of internal communication is to foster a collaborative work environment, enhance team cohesion, achieve organizational alignment, and promote the accomplishment of strategic goals. Due to its central role in organizational dynamics, internal communication is one of the main challenges companies face.

Our Approach

At ACCO Advisory Group, we believe in transforming talent and culture as catalysts for organizational success. We understand that changing what and how we communicate can positively transform the work culture.

Our approach focuses on two key areas of internal communication: effectiveness and efficiency. For effectiveness, we ask if the right things are being done. This involves clear goals, senior management participation, and a consensus-driven communication strategy. For efficiency, we ask if things are being done correctly. This involves proper resource allocation, a variety of communication channels, leadership support, and a data-driven communication strategy.

Methodology

The internal communication audit begins with a comprehensive evaluation process, enabling an accurate diagnosis of communication gaps. This is followed by a facilitation and support phase to rigorously address and mitigate these gaps.

Diagnosis

  1. Document Review: An initial review is conducted to refine the focus of the audit.
  2. Quantitative Analysis: Attitudes towards communication, preferences for communication channels, and the quantity and quality of in formation received are analyzed.
  3. Qualitative Analysis: In-depth interviews with key people are conducted to complement preliminary findings.

Facilitation

  1. Strategic Facilitation: Results are discussed, and strategic priority areas are established.
  2. Final Report: A final report is presented, summarizing the findings of the internal communication audit.
  3. Support: Clients are supported in implementing new communication strategies.
